About Chassis

The car chassis includes four major systems, including transmission system, driving system, steering system, and braking system.

Transmission system 

It is an important part of the automotive chassis, which includes the clutch, transmission, transmission shaft, drive axle, etc..The function is to transfer the power output from the engine to the driving wheels, allowing them to rotate. 

Driving system

It includes components such as wheels, tires, suspension system, and frame. The function is to bear the weight of the car, receive the power brought by the transmission system, and drive the car. Furthermore, there is a buffer for external impacts and vibrations received by the vehicle body.

Steering system 

The steering system includes the steering wheel, steering gear, steering knuckles and power steering system. Its main function is to control the direction of the vehicle, achieving steering and operation. 

Braking system

The function of the braking system is to stop the car and ensure the safety of the driver.It includes two independent braking systems, namely the driving brake and the parking brake. It applies braking force to the wheels through the coordination of components such as brakes, brake pipelines, and brake control systems, achieving vehicle deceleration and parking. At the same time, the braking system can also improve the braking performance and safety of the vehicle through the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

In summary, the chassis carries the weight of the vehicle and provides stable driving and operation.Due to long-term exposure to possible very harsh working environment, the chassis is also the most vulnerable to damage and erosion. Rainy, snowy, and rugged mountain roads all might cause significant damage to the chassis. Therefore, timely inspection of the corrosion degree of the chassis is an effective way to protect the chassis.
